If you happen to be visiting someplace warm and tropical for spring break, or if you’re lucky enough to live in such a location, you likely have a Creation Inspiration right outside your front door every day-the palm tree.

Yesterday was Palm Sunday, the day we reflect on Christ’s ride into Jerusalem, and how he was greeted with cheers and anticipation. Later in the week, things were different of course, but imagine what it must have been like to have been on that street that day waving a palm branch, welcoming God himself (even if you didn’t understand that’s what was going on).

The next time you see a palm tree, whether you’re driving along an ocean front highway or maybe gazing out your hotel room, take a moment to remember Holy Week and God’s amazing love & grace.

John 12:13 (NIV) They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! ” “Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Blessed is the King of Israel!”

Considering getting a book or sending a book to someone for Christmas? The good news is there’s still time! The bad news is the deadline is the end of this week to be safe (unless you want to pay for priority or overnight).

Creation Inspirations makes a great gift for kids, for that family you’ve been sharing your faith with, or your favorite homeschooling group/family.

I cannot believe how quickly the summer went by! It seems like the book was just in editing a short time ago and now it’s already time to announce that the count down to launch has begun!

Creation Inspirations: A New View of the World Around You will officially launch on Sunday, September 20th 2009! I am honored and blessed that my home congregation, Shepherd’s Gate Lutheran in Shelby Twp has allowed me to host a celebration event that morning after services. I’m truly looking forward to sharing the book and praising God for it with my family, church family, and friends.

For those of you who are not nearby, I would be honored if you would pray that day for God to use this project for His glory and to give me all that I need to do His will. You are also welcome to order the book and celebrate virtually! If you do and you order from this site, I’d be happy to send a signed copy, just email me or comment and let me know.

It’s been a good day! The website is now much better and ready to go thanks to my wonderful designer Carolyn (if you ask, I may refer her, or I may just keep her as my secret weapon ). Some of the updates include the fact that you can subscribe to the blog (for news and other stuff) either by RSS or email, contact me via a nifty contact form and there’s a sample from the book complete with graphics.

And just after I got the note from Carolyn, I got a couple of boxes on my porch-guess what’s in those…

Also, I can now officially announce that launch date is Sept 20th! I’m blessed and honored that it’s being held at my home congregation Shepherd’s Gate, Shelby. More details to come so stay tuned!

The UPS guy stopped yesterday and until I looked at the return address, I couldn’t figure out what it could be. It was my book proof already!

I figured it would take at least a week (which would have been today) and actually a little longer. Nice surprise!

As far as how it looks, it’s pretty cool! Couple of boo-boos but nothing we can’t fix in another run.

The book is at the printer as of last Friday! Now it’s time to wait for the proof copy. If all goes well, I’ll have my first order a week or two after that.
