What a wonderful birthday gift. Last year for Christmas I decided that instead of giving gifts I would donate to different charities for each of my relatives. I tried to pick a charity that had a special meaning to them. Recently someone told me about a children’s book called Three Cups. The lesson is to divide what you earn into thirds: one for spending, one for saving, and one for giving to others. It is a lesson meant for everyone not just kids. That’s why I dedicate a 1/3 of the proceeds from sales at book signings of my book Living in the Heartland: Three Extraordinary Women’s Stories (http://www.livingintheheartland.com).
