New Holiday Stocking Stuffer Available

  Posted by Cheryl under Misc

Earlier this fall, I was unable to attend a planned craft show, so I have extra Creation Inspirations Sea Star Magnets. They’re great as stocking stuffers or to put in a Christmas card.

If you’re interested, contact me via the form or email (or Facebook) as they aren’t on the website.

It’s hard to believe it’s almost Christmas! I don’t know where the year went but it’s time for all of the visiting, sharing, eating, shopping and all the rest that makes up your family’s celebration.

With regard to the shopping part, I’d like to humbly suggest that you consider purchasing a copy (or more if you feel so inclined :-) ) of Creation Inspirations either for your family or someone else’s.

Not sure who it might be right for? Here’s a short list that will hopefully help you fill out your gift list in the week to come.

  1. Kids ages approx 4-9
  2. Your family to another family
  3. Friends/neighbors who are seekers
  4. Giving tree gifts
  5. People you won’t see in person-I can mail anywhere in the U.S. just send me an email or use the contact form to let me know where to send it.

Also, please note that if you want to order from my site, you need to order SOON as orders will be sent via regular mail and we all know what happens to the mail in December. If you’d like something sent outside the U.S please contact me and we’ll see if it can arrive in time.

Questions? Feel free to leave a comment here, email me or use the contact form.

Did you know that in a transplant situation, once the recipient’s body is brought back to normal temperatures (it’s cooled for surgery) most of the time the new heart will start beating on it’s own? I just heard that fact the other day from a heart surgeon.

Think about that-as complicated an organ as the heart is with all the valves and vessels running through it, it can get right back to the job it was designed to do even after going through that much trauma.

Put your hand over your heart for a minute. Feel that? That’s God’s awesome design at work in you, right now!

May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

Get to Know Your Wild Neighbors Contest

  Posted by Cheryl under Misc

I just read about this contest and it looks like fun. It gives kids and families the opportunity to explore nature and then enter either a drawing, photo, video or short paragraph.  There’s no cost and if you happen to live in San Diego, you can attend a live event as well.

The organization that shared the link  is pretty cool too-The Children & Nature network. They have other ideas to get out and enjoy the world around us.

If you enter, please let me know. I’ll be happy to link to something you post online or I’ll try to post a pic if you send it to me.

Conversations with kids about God and faith don’t need to be complicated to be effective. If you are blessed to live in or visit an area where fall colors abound either in the trees or fields of pumpkins and gourds, one simple conversation starter can go like this:

Look at how beautiful those trees are! (If the child is younger, ask him/her how many colors they can name). Look at that entire field filled with all that orange.

Earth is sort of like a big canvass for God isn’t it? He paints gorgeous pictures for us every day just like this one. He does a great job doesn’t He?

What colors do you like best? What if you could help God color the trees or the pumpkins, what colors would you tell Him to use? Why?

And the LORD God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. Genesis 2: 9a
